Political Power And The Religious Right
I wonder, with all the political power the religious right seems to have these days, does the religious right have a tranquil effect on the lives of most Americans? Are most Americans at peace within or is there rumbling in their core?
I ask these questions because fear seems to be an accepted demon these days. We are tormented at our core by this demon and it now seems that the Republican party is playing it for all its worth. Fear of losing money, fear of terrorist, fear of bird flu, fear of global warming and the list goes on. I know these are real issues but we can't do anything to change them unless we face them head-on, without fear! Americans are not afraid of a challenge, any challenge! The church in her place, the government in its place, both doing their part to move America forward.
The so-called religious right is suppose to bring hope and comfort to people by way of the unbiased gospel message of Jesus. However, the so-called religious right seems to have an unwillingness to tolerate differences in others because they are so caught up in politics of their own agendas.
